Kforce is working with a client looking for a Data Analyst to join an IT-focused analytics team supporting data-driven initiatives across the organization. This role requires 5 days onsite in downtown Saint Louis, MO.
Summary
This role partners closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and developers to deliver accurate, timely data insights through ad-hoc reporting and analysis. You'll translate business questions into clear data requirements, build queries to extract meaningful insights, and serve as a subject matter expert for key data sets. This position plays a hands-on role in enabling smarter decisions through reliable, well-documented data.
What You'll Do
Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting requests from business and product partners
Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure the right data is being delivered
Write and optimize T-SQL queries to support analysis, reporting, and broader data initiatives
Validate and review data outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality
Provide peer review and support to other analysts on the team, especially for complex requests
Identify opportunities to improve team processes, documentation, and data practices
Manage and prioritize incoming requests based on urgency, impact, and team capacity
Build strong working knowledge of internal applications, business processes, and how they impact data
Act as a subject matter expert for assigned raw data sources and maintain related documentation
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
1-3 years of experience in financial, investment, technical, or analytical roles
Working knowledge of financial services concepts and terminology, with exposure to wealth management preferred
Solid understanding of T-SQL, relational databases, and basic data modeling principles
Ability to write SQL queries that aggregate, analyze, and model large, complex data sets
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify patterns and relationships in data
Interest in growing skills related to building normalized datasets for enterprise reporting and business intelligence
Clear communication skills and the ability to explain data findings to non-technical audiences
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience working with ticketing systems
Familiarity with reporting, documentation, and productivity tools
Exposure to system monitoring and logging tools
Understanding of client/server architecture, APIs, and relational databases
Ability to write intermediate SQL queries
