Kforce's client in Springfield, Massachusetts (MA) is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team! The role is three days in the office, with two days working from home.
Summary
We are searching for a DevOps Engineer to help modernize enterprise IT through automation, reliability, and continuous improvement. DevOps is still evolving within our environment, this is a unique opportunity to help shape it from the ground up. This role goes beyond tools; it connects infrastructure, security, operations, and application teams to deliver faster, safer, and more consistent outcomes. You will play a key role in reducing manual effort, improving system stability, and building scalable, repeatable platforms.
Duties
Design, build, and maintain automation workflows to provision and configure infrastructure across environments
Develop reusable PowerShell scripts and libraries to streamline IT operations
Improve provisioning for Windows infrastructure (AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, IIS, SQL Server)
Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices
Embed security controls and secrets management into automation workflows
Create validation and testing frameworks to ensure system integrity
Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions
Lead incident response and root cause analysis (RCA)
Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams
Translate operational pain points into scalable automation solutions
Maintain documentation including runbooks, architecture decisions, and onboarding guides
Drive continuous improvement in automation maturity across the organization
REQUIREMENTS
3+ years in DevOps, infrastructure automation, or systems engineering
Proven ownership of automation solutions end-to-end (design, deployment, and operations)
Experience working in complex enterprise IT environments
Technical Skills
PowerShell (production-level scripting)
Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, DFS, IIS, Group Policy, Firewall)
SQL Server automation (instances, jobs, restores, scripting)
